A weekend on Möja

Bring your friends on a wonderful weekend out to Möja! Here you can take a bike ride, go kayaking in the archipelago and eat good food at Wikströms Fisk.

Möja is a year-round island. It is just as nice to be here in the winter as in the summer. Möja lies geographically quite exactly in the middle of the archipelago, with the inner springs north of Värmdö in the west and a separate archipelago in the east with Björkskär at the far end of the open sea. It is one of the largest islands and almost 300 people live here all year round.

The island is perfect for discoveries of various kinds. You can rent a bike both in Berg on the southern part and in Ramsmora further north. In Berg you can also rent kayaks and venture out into the beautiful and protected Möjaskärgården with nice coves and sheltered small cuts. There are marked hiking trails on the island. There are guest harbors in Kyrkviken, Löka and in Långvik. Swiming beaches are quite inaccessible for swimming and no fixed bathing areas are available. A sauna is available at Ostholmen. There is also an open storage room where it is possible to stay overnight.

There is now also a new year-round open museum, Roland Svensson museum at Ramsmora pier. Visit rolandsvenssonsallskapet.se

Get lunch at cozy Wikströms Fisk, a family-owned restaurant that has been around since 1990. wikstromsfisk.com

There are two grocery stores on the island, one of which is only open May-September.

You can choose between two year-round open, slightly larger places for residents down in Berg. One is Möja Hostel, they are members of the STF. boka@mojavandrarhem.se. The other is Möja Värdshus. boka@mojavardshus.se
